I don't just forage for myself, I do it for all of my family and that includes my dogs Pippa and Holly.

I brush this through their coats whenever we go out into the Forest and I also use it to spray their beds.

This spray includes wild harvested Herb Robert, which has been used for years as an insect repellent (it is also an ingredient in my natural insect repellent balm) and was traditionally or placed in a pet’s bed to deter fleas. I have also used Quassia chip soaked in distilled water and Apple Cider Vinegar. Quassia is a South American plant that is a powerful anti-parasitic that has been used for many hundreds of years to treat a wide variety of pest (lice, nits, fleas, etc).

I have also used a little Lemongrass and Lavender essential oils. The scent of both naturally repels fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies, and hundreds more pesky bugs.

Unlike you monthly spot on, this natural remedy will require a more frequent application.

Directions - Spray a couple of pumps onto your pet’s favourite brush or your hands and then rub on their coat before a walk. Alternatively, use one pump in their bed. Do not spray directly onto cats. Please do a patch test on your pet’s leg 24 hours before using as there is always a risk of allergic reaction. The essential oils used are properly diluted but if your pet is allergic any of the ingredients, the reaction could be severe. Do not use on puppies 12 weeks and younger.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Herb Robert, Lavender and Rosemary - 50ml

Please do a patch test on your dogs leg 24 hours before using all over as there is always a risk of allergic reaction. If your dog is allergic to lavender oil or any other essential oil, the reaction could be severe. Allergy symptoms include itchy and inflamed skin, respiratory difficulty, and chronic infections.

I am extremely careful about the amounts of the ingredients used and if you are tempted to make your own, please be aware that there are some risks to be aware of when applying any essentials oil for the first time. Dogs may be at risk of poisoning if too much essential oil is ingested. While many essential oils are OK to use when properly diluted and applied topically, ingestion could make animals sick, including ingesting eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil. Thoroughly read all instructions and warnings before using an essential oil on your dog.
